Please, please, please ignore/forgive how terrible these pictures are. I took them at 2am this morning after getting home from a gig in Manchester and I was very tired and the lighting in my room is terrible. And sorry you can't see my shoes, but you never really can anyway.

I needed something quick to throw on after work and this is what I came up with. It's a bit different to how I usually dress but I've never really wore that t-shirt (I cut off the sleeves) and I really like it, and I thought going to a gig was a pretty approriate time to wear it. I also wore a long black cardigan that I had on in work and my green parka. I'm getting so bored of that parka (I wear it so much and feel like a member of Oasis in it now) so I think I need to invest in a new coat soon.

Anyways, tomorrow I'm going to Manchester again to see my favourite band ever Brand New so I'll definitely try to get a really good outfit picture to make up for these shoddy ones. I also hope everyone is keeping safe and warm in the snow! xo

Since I only did a short shift in work and it's my pay day, I decided to pick up a few things in town before going home.

I've been using Lush's Aqua Marina cleanser for years but I've heard really good things about Herbalism (£5.95) and see if it's any better.

I didn't buy this, my nan made it for me! Bless her. So I just thought I'd show you all before it pops up in an outfit post.

On my feet I wore my velvet Topshop loafers, which proved themselves not to be very weather-proof, as my feet where soaked by the time I got home. The rest of my day will be spent drinking tea, waiting for parcels to arrive and listening to Beyonce.

I really need to tame my hair, it's stuck between straight & wavy. My nan made that jumper for my sister but she didn't like it, so I've claimed it! It's so cute, like a little wool t-shirt. Japanese Street Style

Over the past few days I've been looking a lot at Japanese street style websites, such as tokyofashion.com and japanesestreets.com. Back in my "Emo" days I did have a brief fascination with Japanese style, especially Harajuku, thanks to Gwen Stefani's Love Angel Music Baby album and my ever-growing Hello Kitty collection (which is still going strong!). I've seen lots of pictures of cute Japanese girls with elaborate & adorable outfits reblogged on tumblr but after looking at a few more websites, I'm completely in love with everything about Japanese street style.

It's crazy how they've been inspired so much by Western culture and trends but still manage to give their individual twist on it that's completely different to how any British person might think to dress.

As you can see by these photos my hair is refusing to cooperate lately. I hate straightening it with hair straighteners but a friend suggested John Frieda Frizz Ease 3 Day Straight Spray, so I think I might have to try it out. I wore this to go into town today to do some job shopping and general bits & peices shopping. I got a 400ml can of Batiste dry shampoo, some Lush Bubblegum lip scrub and a pair of American Apparel Opaque Two Color Pantyhose in black and sand dollar (finally!) with a £10 giftcard I've had forever.

Today I really couldn't a good picture of my outfit at all. I'm blaming the bad lighting and lack of space in my bedroom, as well as not having a full length mirror. Plus I dropped my camera so all the pictures kept coming out a bit fuzzy, which is never good.

The two items I bought in the Urban Outfitters online sale came in the post today! I bought a Nirvana t-shirt to add to my collection of them and a pair of Chelsea boots. I've been after a nice pair for a while and these ones are perfect, I can't wait to wear them.

I can't remember the price of the boots and when I went to check then, they've sold out! I'm so happy I've got a pair.

This t-shirt was £35 reduced to £15. I got a size L because Urban Outfitters t-shirts are usually a bit tight, but it's really big and baggy. I don't mind because I'm only going to tuck in to things but it was a bit of a surprise.

I went into town today to meet my friend for a pub lunch and picked up a few things as well. I really need to stop spending, especially since my return train ticket cost me £3.10! Plus I'm decorating my room this month and I've trying to do it on a £100 budget. I bought a roll of Cath Kidston wallpaper and hopefully that's the most expensive thing I'll have to get. Some serious eBaying and charity shop rooting need to be done.

Topshop "Surf Luxe" SS12

Topshop released a preview of their SS12 collection, called Surf Luxe. I think I'm still stuck in Autumn/Winter style because all the bright colours and light materials are making me want to hide underneath numerous layers of wooly jumpers & dark coats. I think most of the collection looks a lot like items you would wear to the gym but there are a few I rather like:

Happy 2012 everyone! I hope you all had a lovely time ringing in the new year, I drank lots of gin and watched Bridesmaids. I'll do something a little more exciting to welcome in twenty-thirteen, I promise. Anyways the first day of 2012 has been pretty lazy for me. I watched a bit of The US Office and had a look at the Topshop stuff I got in their online sale, then went for a roast dinner at my nan's house. It's always really hard motivating yourself to be really productive on the first few days of the year but one of my resolutions is to make more of an effort with everything.

Saying that I will always be making more of an effort in style, especially with all the great bargains I've managed to get in the sale. I'm so pleased with what I got from Topshop as I'm always so tempted to blow all of my wages in there. I don't think you should have to choose between looking good and going out, so this year I'm definitely going to work on spending my money a little more wisely than I did in 2011.

Topshop do the best shoes and I always find something I like. Plus these are velvet and velvet is one of my favourite things.

Sleeveless shirt; was £18 now £10

I have a lot more tops than things I can wear on my bottom but this can be dressed up or down.

These are adorable and I can't wait to wear them with an oversized blazer and some big earrings for a night out. Speaking out nights out, 2011 was lacking in them. I really want to start going out regularly again, I miss it.

Dalmatian print box bag; was £32 now £15

I never really got into the dalmatian spot trend but I noticed Topshop did some great pieces, especially fur coats. I think this bag will brighten up those days when everything I wear is black.

Earrings; was £7 now £4.25

Lately I've started wearing earrings more and I really like 1950s style ones like these.

Again, I hope everybody had fun on new years. It feels a bit weird now that December's over and it's just an ordinary month. Has anybody got any resolutions? And do you think you'll stick to them?

I wore this to a family meal tonight. It was a bit thrown together and last minute as I've been very lazy all day, watching The Hills & waiting for my Topshop parcel that never came. I bought this playsuit from Rare in their online sale, as it was something like £8 reduced from £30. I'm obsessed with anything Peter Pan collar and looks like it comes from Wednesday Addam's closet but I don't think this playsuit is for me, eBay ahoy! It's sleeveless so I threw my long Zara cardigan over it to be a bit warmer. That lovely bag was a 99p find on eBay and it's a wonderful addition to my growing collection of tapestry bags.

Boxing Day sales haul!

My sister and I braved the Boxing Day sales and I'm really glad we did. I've got some great things (even though a few items are full priced, whoops). I also did some Topshop online sale shopping on Christmas Day, how egar?! And I bought a t-shirt and a pair of Chelsea boots from the Urban Outfitters online sale today. Those items are yet to arrive so here's what I got from my trip in town;

I got some tights and moccasins from Primark, as all my black tights seem to have holes & ladders in and I've ben looking for a cute & cheap pair of moccasins for ages. I think the tights where £3 for three pairs and the shoes where £8. It's always weird buying things from the Primark in Liverpool as I used to work in there but I keep finding great bargins in there lately.

These earrings where both £2 reduced from £5 from Miss Selfridge. I'm really into long, elegant earrings lately. I need to start wearing my hair up more to properly pull them off.

This hoodie was £15 from H&M (full price item!) but I've wanted one for ages, just to wear undearneath my leather jacket. I love the maroon colour, plus it looks so much like the over-priced American Apparel hoodies.

This dress was such a bargin - £10 from Resurrection! It's so cute and fun, it reminds me of something Twiggy would've wore in the 60s. Maybe I'll try it out with some Twiggy-inspire make-up.

This lovely black, lace playsuit was £35 reduced from £55 in Urban Outfitters. I also got student discount so it was a little less than £35. I can't wait to wear it with a camel boyfriend blazer and some nice shoes.

I've also bought lots of stuff off Topshop and Urban Outfitters online sales, so I might make a little haul video when they arrive and when I get time. I told, big plans!

Hello! I hope you've all had a wonderful and safe Christmas. It feels a bit weird now that it's all over, I had my first day back in work today and we've already got Easter eggs in - it's not even 2012 yet! My Christmas was really lovely and relaxed, I've ate so much food and drank so much gin, I need to get myself back into a real routine. For Christmas I got some Topshop make-up brushes, The Hills complete collection, Alan Partridge's book (AHA!), some money and Topshop vouchers, and the glass cat salt & pepper shakers I was lusting after in Urban Outfitters! They're so cute.

I've still been taking pictures of my outfits and not really posting them because I've been so busy with things but I'm hoping to get them all up and back on track. I have big plans for this blog, so hopefully I'll be doing things like videos and reviews, and updating much more regularly and with a lot more variety of content.

I wore this yesterday to do the last of my Christmas shopping and then meet Amy for some festive activities. Town was so busy and there was queues everywhere but you really can't go wrong with Boots Mix 'n' Match gifts and some cute cards from Paperchase. Has everyone else finished their Christmas shopping or are you also braving how hectic the shops are?

I love that fur coat so much, it so big and looks very vintage. Plus it was reduced from £75 to £50 in the sale! I was a bit apprehensive about using that bag, basically because it's like a little suitcase, but it's so different and quirky. I sat in on my lap on the bus into town and used it as a little desk, which was rather fun.

To get ourselves in the Christmas mood, Amy & I sampled some of McDonald's festive menu like the classy folk we are (the After Eight Mint McFlurry is such a treat), then went back to mine for Cheeky Vimto's and The Only Way Is Essexmas. I'm definitely feeling in the Christmas spirit now, as I'm going back in town tomorrow to sample some festive ales and beverages, more present swapping, and then having a cheeky night-out in the evening. Oh, and of course making sure I watch The Muppets' Christmas Carol at some point before Christmas Day!

Yesterday I also treated myself to some of Lush's Aqua Marina face cleanser and this dress to wear on Christmas Day. It was supposed to be £20 but came to £18 with my shiny new NUS card. They've also got the same style dress in velvet which I think I also might have to purchase.

Hello! Today I went into town for a photography trip, the perfect opportunity to get some outfit pictures. It was such a chilly day so I didn't chance taking my coat off (I really don't want to catch a cold during this festive period) but I take advantage of colourful graffiti in Liverpool's back streets. We also got some pictures in St. James' cemetery, one of my favourite places in Liverpool. It's so spooky and peaceful.

I bought that fur scarf for £1.10 off eBay! What a bargain, considering fur-collared coats are currently in shops for £50 plus. I can wear it with my camel coat to update it, and it's really cosy. I'm definitely in love with my velvet shorts, wearing them as much as possible.

I also popped into Primark whilst in town, planning to buy a pair of mittens. Primark is one of those shops where I go in to buy a single item, and come out with several. I did get myself a cute pair of mittens, as well as two new bags:

I'm always in a rush to get ready for college so I usually throw a simple bodycon skirt/t-shirt/cardigan combination on, and this is an example of that. The parka and the shoes are from Urban Outfitters, and are two of my most used items in my wardrobe. That parka saw me through this year's Leeds Festival, I'd be lost without it and it's multiple pockets. The Nirvana t-shirt never looks right in pictures, it just looks like I've got Kurt Cobain's head floating around my middle. It's still one of my favourites though. That hat/scarf is one of my best winter purchases. It was only £10 and it's so cute and warm!

This evening I have a lot of coursework to catch-up on, tea to drink and presents to wrap. Has everyone else finished their Christmas shopping?

I'm having a festive evening after work tonight, with a meal and drinks and present swapping! I'm really excited because I wasn't feeling very Christmas-like but now I've got a few festive activities lined up, I'm definitely getting in the Noel mood.

So this is what I'm wearing tonight. I've hardly worn that beautiful Topshop sleeveless blouse since I got it as a gift in the summer, and it goes perfectly with my new UO velvet shorts. The shoes and cardigan are just practical as it's freezing out, and that coat is my favourite thing in my wardrobe. It was originally £170 but I couldn't afford it at the time as I was jobless but luckily in the New Year sale (and when I'd found myself a job!) it had been reduced to £50. Such a wonderful bargin.

I've never done a real haul post before, and with the arrivial of a few Urban Outfitters sale goodies and my new tripod, I thought why not?! Urban Outfitters is definitely my favourite shop, as I can always find something that I adore in there. It is a bit on the expensive side but their sales are always excellent. Especially since their website is currently offering free shipping on orders over £35 and 15% with the code: MERRYUO. Here's what I got in their online sale:

Ecote Tan Woven Slip-on Shoe; was £24 now £15

I rarely ever wear heels so I'm always on the look out for interesting flats. These are so cute and they're so comfy, I'm definitely going to be wearing them as soon as the weather dries up.

You can never have too many black flats and these ones where too cute not buy. They'll go with everything as well, always good when you're in a hurray and can't find anything to wear on your feet.

I have neglected this blog far too much lately! I've collected a number of outfit pictures on my phone but have been careless to post them as I've been quite busy sorting out all my UCAS stuff and applying to university, ontop of general education & work, trying to have a life, Christmas shopping and turning twenty-one.

However now I think I've found my true calling and applied to do fashion at JMU, Manchester Met, University of Manchester, Nottingham Trent and De Montford so I think this blog needs so major hard work put into it. Today has been my first day off from work in thirteen days, and despite that, I still managed to wake-up before 8am. Silly body clock. It's been fittingly lazy, as all I've really done is sit in bed and read, drink tea, hoover up, decide to start this blog and go to the Asda for a few bits. Anyways, here is what I've worn today. It's a pretty casual outfit, can't beat the band t-shirt and plain bodycon skirt combination. Hopefully my next outfit post will be a bit more exciting.
